Girls Teams in 2018 will change following restructuring by Football West.

During the last Junior Standing Committee, the idea was proposed and put forwarded by the committee to change the girl's league age groups for the 2018 season. The proposed league would have a 14 & under, 16 & under and an 18 & under age group to compliment the newly established 10 & under and 12 & under small sided football age groups.

This is a change from the current 11, 13, 15 and 17 age format that was used in 2017.

The proposal came about from discussions with stakeholders within clubs and players, the junior standing committee feel by offering an 18 & under age group it would allow those players who feel they are not ready to play senior football to continue playing with their peers in the junior format. This of course does not restrict players moving into senior women's football should they wish too.

The proposed age groups would also allow for the natural progression of teams and/or players from the 2017 season to continue to develop with their peers. The Junior Standing Committee and Football West would like to invite the clubs who have teams playing within the current junior girl's league structure to voice your opinion and provide feedback on this proposal.
